Civic participation in the United States is too low. To achieve a fully representative democracy, we must engage more non-voters in our political process. Stronger voter engagement leads to a stronger democracy, and we work to ensure that happens.
We focus on efforts that engage with underrepresented citizens who are often overlooked by voter engagement initiatives. We give local organizations and leaders the tools to increase civic participation within their communities.
We know that, despite best intentions, civic engagement efforts often overlook hard-to-reach communities. To have a fully representative democracy, we must strive to expand our reach.
Every grant is an opportunity to learn. Through quantitative and qualitative analysis and a real conversation with grantees, we strengthen our own practices and develop lessons for all civic engagement organizations.
